Tehran – Wheat processing industries are a critical pillar of food security, especially during wartime, according to the head of Iran's Center for Development of Mechanization and Agricultural Industries.

 

Speaking on National Wheat and Bread Day, Karim Zolfaghari said wheat represents a vital chain linking farms to family tables. “Despite ongoing full-scale war and widespread pressures, he confirmed that wheat harvesting continues uninterrupted thanks to careful planning.”

 

He highlighted that flour, pasta, biscuit, and cake industries ensure stable calorie supplies for both civilians and armed forces, particularly in crises and remote areas.

 

“Starch and gluten industries support food and pharmaceutical sectors, while wheat-based animal feed helps sustain the country's protein supply chain.”

 

He also noted that smart warehouse management by silos and packaging industries enables proper product distribution under any condition.
