Tehran – Advanced, engineered greenhouses are rapidly transforming Tehran's agricultural landscape, generating sustainable jobs, fulfilling domestic needs, and boosting exports to key regional markets, according to an official.

 

"A state-of-the-art 67,000-square-meter greenhouse in Varamin is now exporting over 2,000 tons of high-value produce annually, including peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and strawberries, to Russia, Central Asia, and the Persian Gulf," Baradari, an official with the Tehran Provincial Agricultural Organization, said.

 

The facility leverages cutting-edge technologies to drastically reduce resource consumption – water, electricity, and gas – while maximizing yield. This innovation directly and indirectly creates jobs for 180 people, contributing significantly to the local economy.
