Supporting nomads a ‘strategic imperative’, Minister say

North Khorasan – The Iranian Minister of Agriculture emphasized the strategic importance of bolstering nomadic communities to ensure sustainable food security for the nation.
During a gathering with nomads in the Takht-e Mirza region, Gholamreza Nouri called for targeted assistance for this "production-oriented segment of society."
"Nomadic communities are the guardians of Iran's biological civilization and natural heritage," Nouri said.
"Supporting them is a strategic imperative for the future of our country."
During his visit to Takht-e Mirza, the minister directly engaged with the nomads, stressing the critical need to strengthen their livelihood and production infrastructure.
He further highlighted the fundamental role these communities play in supplying red meat, preserving biodiversity, and ensuring the sustainable use of pastures.
Iranian nomads predominantly inhabit provinces like Fars, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Khuzestan, and Isfahan, migrating between winter quarters in steppes and summer quarters in mountainous regions
