Astara – As part of efforts to enhance the quality and productivity of kiwi fruits across the orchards of the border city of Astara, northern province of Gilan, Iranian researchers have launched a new method to enrich the roots and growth of the fruit.  

 

The method makes use of river sand to prepare a proper condition for the trees to have stronger roots through receiving the soil’s nutrients.

 

Experts believe that the novel method would improve the resilience of kiwi fruits’ trees in the face of environmental challenges and consequently improve the quality of the fruits.

 

It will produce crops that can have better yield potential compared to varieties used in traditional agricultural techniques.
