Qazvin clears path for export of livestock products

Qazvin – Production facilities in the northwestern province of Qazvin that comply with international export standards can now obtain official certification to ship animal-derived products to Eurasian markets, according to the provincial Veterinary Department.

Dr. Mehdi Jolokhani, Director-General of the Qazvin Veterinary Department, announced that eligible units will be granted an IR export code following successful audits conducted by departmental inspectors.

The statement follows a recent request from a local dairy manufacturer seeking to renew its export credentials. "Our experts conducted a full audit of the facility," Dr. Jolokhani said.

"After the identified shortcomings were corrected, the company successfully renewed its IR export code for a range of products, including various cheeses and pasteurized milk."

The IR export code serves as a formal certification, indicating that the holder meets all sanitary, phytosanitary, and quality requirements necessary for exporting to member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union and other regional partners.

The move is seen as part of broader efforts to facilitate non-oil exports and integrate Iranian producers into regional supply chains.
