Tehran – Harvesting of off-season mixed forage crops has begun in farms across Tehran Province, a local agricultural official announced.

 

Mahmoudreza Ajudani, director of crop production at the Tehran Province Agriculture Organization, said the harvest of green forage from mixed-cultivation fields is now underway in various counties throughout the province.

 

"In order to make the most of the region's climatic conditions, the cultivation of mixed cereals, including barley and triticale, alongside legumes such as hairy vetch and forage pea has been promoted across Tehran Province," he explained.

 

The official added that this farming approach has helped supply a portion of the forage needed by local livestock farmers.
