North Khorasan targets higher raisin exports
North Khorasan – The northeastern North Khorasan province produces 116,000 tons of grapes annually from its 13,800 hectares of vineyards and has the capacity to increase raisin exports to 20,000 tons, according to the province's Agricultural Organization.
Horticulture Director Hamdamian said the province produces around 8,000 tons of raisins and 350 tons of grape concentrate each year, supporting value-added processing and boosting growers' incomes.
He noted that expanding processing capacity, improving product quality, and developing new export markets could significantly increase raisin exports.
“North Khorasan currently ranks 11th among Iran's grape-producing provinces.”
