Tehran – The Iranian Minister of Agriculture called for prioritizing food security and self-sufficiency in the production of strategic goods, describing them as the foundation of the Islamic Republic’s strength and stability.

 

In a formal message marking the Government Week, Gholamreza Nouri hailed the week as “a valuable occasion to reaffirm commitment to the lofty ideals of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, and the Supreme Leader, and to renew our pledge to serve the noble people of Iran.”

 

He paid tribute to the “martyred statesmen whose honesty, simplicity, and devotion to justice made them enduring symbols of service and integrity—true beacons for today’s public servants.”

 

Highlighting the sector’s performance, the minister pointed to “unprecedented growth in agricultural production and economic indicators, achieved through the implementation of intelligent and forward-looking policies.”

 

He stressed that this achievement - surpassing targets set in national development plans - not only ensures the country’s food sovereignty but also acts as a powerful engine for strengthening the national economy.

 

“More than ever, we are convinced that the Islamic Republic’s power and security rest on food security and self-sufficiency,” Nouri affirmed.

 

“The Ministry of Agriculture is firmly committed to sustainable agricultural development, protection of natural resources, support for farmers and rural communities, and improving public welfare. All our efforts are directed toward these goals.”

 

Concluding his message, the minister congratulated the nation on the occasion of the Government Week and underlined the ministry’s mission, “As members of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad in the Government of National Unity, we are the guardians of the martyrs’ legacy. With faith, hope, and tireless service, we will spare no effort to safeguard the dignity, progress, and prosperity of the Iranian people. This is not just a responsibility—it is our calling.”
