Khorasan Razavi tops Iran in saffron production
Khorasan Razavi – The province has secured first place nationally in saffron cultivation, with 99,000 hectares of farmland dedicated to Iran's "red gold" and an annual yield of 161 tons of high-quality saffron, according to the head of the province's Agricultural Jihad Organization.
"This remarkable achievement is the result of the tireless efforts of our dedicated farmers," said Majid Jafari. "Khorasan Razavi remains the country's main saffron-producing hub, playing a vital role in Iran's agricultural economy."
He added: "The top national ranking is not just a statistic — it is a symbol of the passion, pride, and capable hands of the people of Khorasan Razavi, who nurture this red gold with heart and soul and export it to the world."
