ULAANBAATAR – Iran's Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri is visiting Mongolia at the official invitation of his Mongolian counterpart and the foreign minister, as part of Tehran's push for enhanced agricultural and environmental diplomacy.

 

On the sidelines of the UNCCD COP17 conference, Nouri toured an exhibition on Mongolia's nomadic heritage, exploring opportunities for joint cooperation in sustainable rural development, livestock, and agritourism.

 

He also met with Mongolia's tourism minister to discuss shared potential in rural and nomadic tourism, local economic growth, and cultural exchange.

 

Nouri emphasized Iran’s readiness to transfer expertise in agriculture, processing industries, and sustainable resource management.

 

His agenda includes addressing the COP17 plenary, holding bilateral talks with participating officials, and advancing cooperation on desertification, food security, water and soil management, and agricultural trade.

 

The visit underscores Iran's active diplomatic approach, positioning agriculture and environmental sustainability as key pillars for international partnership.
