Mazandaran - Iran’s first economic delegation meeting in Tashkent was held to address export barriers and enhance fisheries cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan.

 

During the visit of Mazandaran Province’s economic and trade delegation, the inaugural joint meeting took place at the Iranian Embassy in Tashkent, attended by the Governor of Mazandaran, Iran’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and key economic stakeholders from both countries.

 

Highlighting the province’s extensive aquaculture potential, the Director General of Mazandaran Fisheries described Mazandaran as one of Iran’s leading hubs for the production and export of caviar, as well as warm-water and cold-water fish, noting that over 90 percent of the province’s caviar output is exported to international markets.

 

Nima Hosseinzadeh emphasized that the delegation’s main goal was to remove export obstacles and strengthen bilateral cooperation.

 

He added that, given the opportunities in the Uzbek market, there is significant potential to increase Mazandaran’s exports of fish and caviar while expanding fisheries collaboration between the two nations.

 

Hosseinzadeh described the meeting as a strategic step in bolstering economic relations between Iran and Uzbekistan, particularly in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.

 

Both sides underlined the importance of developing bilateral cooperation in fisheries and veterinary services, reaching agreements to facilitate export procedures, enhance technical coordination, increase trade volumes, and maintain continuous expert-level engagement between Mazandaran Province and Uzbekistan.
