Iranian and Lebanese agriculture ministers hold talks in Tehran

Iranian Minister of Agriculture, Mohammad Ali Nikbakht, and his Lebanese counterpart Abbas Haj Hassan explored ways to develop ties in the sector of agriculture between the two nations.

Haj Hassan, who had traveled to Iran to attend the presidential inauguration ceremony, met with Nikbakht on Wednesday, August 1.

The Iranian minister emphasized the need to develop agricultural cooperation between the two countries, saying, "Iran, with its extensive experience and technical and engineering knowledge in various agricultural sectors such as crop production, horticulture, fisheries, and processing industries, is ready to cooperate and partner with Lebanon."

Nikbakht, referring to the significant agricultural capacities in both countries, said, "Our duty is to facilitate matters to increase the level of trade exchanges and develop agricultural cooperation. Iran, with more than two thousand researchers and faculty members in the Research, Education, and Extension Organization, can cooperate with Lebanon in the field of knowledge and technology exchange."

Hassan, for his part, also emphasized the need to develop cooperation between the two countries, saying, "Lebanon is an importer of many Iranian products in various agricultural fields."

"Lebanon is interested in using Iran's agricultural experiences, especially in the fields of livestock and fisheries,” he added.
