Tehran - The Head of the Iran Fisheries Organization has underscored the mandatory installation of tracking systems on fishing vessels, emphasizing that the process must be carried out through specialized companies.

 

Hamzeh Rostampour made the remarks at a briefing session attended by senior officials and representatives of fishing cooperative unions, noting that fishing is a demanding profession and that greater oversight is essential to enhance transparency, regulate vessel operations, and improve maritime safety.

 

He said the measure follows a directive by the First Vice President and a Cabinet resolution.

 

Rostampour added that fishing cooperatives are responsible for issuing calls for proposals to select qualified knowledge-based companies to install the systems at the lowest possible cost.
