Tehran - Iran exported 13,000 tons of tea worth $17 million in 11 months, according to the Head of Iran's Tea Organization (ITO) Habib Jahansaz.

 

Iran's tea industry is making significant strides in non-oil exports, achieving $17 million in revenue from 13,000 tons exported over the past 11 months, Jahansaz said.

 

He highlighted Russia and India as primary export destinations for the Iranian tea.

 

The official emphasized the unique quality of Iranian tea, stemming from its pesticide-free cultivation, which provides a distinct competitive advantage in the global market.

 

"The absence of pesticides is a crucial factor in our ability to compete internationally," Jahansaz said, underscoring the sector's contribution to economic diversification.
