Tehran – Iran has cemented its position as a leading dairy exporter in Asia, accounting for a significant 17% share of the regional market.

This announcement was made by Hasan Khamisabadi, the head of the Animal Science Research Institute of Iran.

According to Khamisabadi, dairy products have emerged as a major contributor to Iran's agricultural exports, playing a crucial role in generating foreign exchange for the country. The latest data from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) confirms Iran's dominance, revealing it as the largest exporter of dairy products in Asia for the year 2023.

The total dairy exports from Asian countries in 2023 exceeded 9 million tons, with Iran's share reaching a substantial 17%. This achievement underscores Iran's growing prominence in the global dairy market.
