Iran projects establishment of 15 greenhouse exports hubs

Tehran – The Iranian government has announced plans to construct 15 export terminals for greenhouse products, an agricultural official said.
Elham Fattahi-Far, Director General of the Greenhouse, Ornamental Plants, and Edible Mushrooms Office at the Ministry of Agriculture’s Horticulture Affairs Department, added, "Securing adequate funding is crucial for the timely implementation and operationalization of these terminals.”
She said the initiative is part of a broader strategy to bolster the export of greenhouse products and edible mushrooms.
To support the export drive, the Ministry is focusing on improving production quality and efficiency, Fattahi-Far said.
“This includes providing high-quality inputs (seeds, fertilizers, etc.) and enhancing nutrition and pest management, enhancing the technical skills of personnel and promoting the adoption of advanced technologies and developing new greenhouse and mushroom production units based on location studies, expanding shade house cultivation, and transitioning water-intensive crops to controlled environments.”
"These measures will not only enhance the quality and quantity of our greenhouse products but also ensure their efficient handling and transportation, making them more competitive in international markets," she stated.
