Iran pistachio exports soar 213 percent

Tehran – Iran's pistachio exports have experienced a remarkable surge in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year.
According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), the value of pistachio exports has increased by a staggering 213% compared to the same period last year.
The country exported 36,000 tons of pistachios worth $352 million during this time, marking a 122% increase in weight as well.
This growth is part of a broader trend in Iran's agricultural exports, which have seen a 33% overall increase in value and a 22% increase in weight during the same period. Pistachios have been a major contributor to this agricultural boom.
In the first four months of the year, Iran exported 2.226 million tons of agricultural products valued at $1.18 billion, representing a 32% increase in value and a 22% increase in weight.
The Iranian government has attributed this growth to various factors, including increased production, improved quality, and greater market access. As a result, Iran's agricultural exports have become a significant source of foreign exchange for the country.
