Iran must retain its crown as world top pistachio producer: Agriculture Minister

Tehran – Iran must reassert its position as the world leader in pistachio production, according to the country's Minister of Agriculture.
"Wherever pistachios are grown commercially, you will find the legacy of Iranian expertise," the minister said. "It is time for Iran to reclaim its rightful place as the global authority in this industry."
Emphasizing the need for innovation, the minister outlined plans for expanded research programs and advanced cultivation techniques. "The Ministry of Agriculture Jihad is committed to modernizing orchards and boosting yields," he said. "Any agricultural policy that undermines pistachio production is unacceptable for Iran."
Addressing concerns over export challenges, the minister dismissed criticisms as politically or economically motivated. "Iranian agricultural products meet the highest global standards for quality and safety," he stated. "Any negative claims are either baseless or driven by trade rivalries."
"While some claim agriculture is exempt from sanctions, barriers persist," the minister noted. "We are prepared to strengthen trade ties with all nations, including European partners."
