Tehran – Iran's agricultural sector is undergoing a significant transformation, with the successful implementation

of over 100smart irrigation pilot projects.

Fariborz Abbasi, the project manager of the Iranian Agriculture Ministry's modern irrigation systems development program, highlighted this achievement at the IFarm 2024 exhibition.

The Agriculture Ministry has been at the forefront of modernizing irrigation practices in Iran. By identifying innovative companies, leveraging research institutions, and evaluating cutting-edge technologies, the ministry has facilitated the implementation of these pilot projects across 10,000 hectares of land.

The projects, spanning diverse agricultural settings, have yielded impressive results. They have demonstrated significant improvements in efficiency, leading to reduced water consumption and increased crop yields.

Abbasi emphasized the importance of expanding the pool of capable companies specializing in smart irrigation systems. This will be crucial to meet the growing demand for these technologies and ensure their equitable distribution throughout the country.

As Iran continues to invest in agricultural modernization, these smart irrigation projects are poised to play a pivotal role in securing a sustainable and productive future for the nation's agriculture sector.
