Nowshahr – Iran has inaugurated a new herbarium -  a collection of dried plant specimens usually mounted and systematically arranged for reference - in the northern city of Nowshahr.

 

Gholamreza Golmohammadi, head of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), unveiled the herbarium while visiting the Nowshahr Botanical Garden - one of the key branches of the Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands of Iran.

 

As a national treasure, the Nowshahr Botanical Garden represents a rich repository of Iran’s and the world’s botanical diversity. With its extensive herbarium collection, the garden plays an important role in scientific study, conservation, and the preservation of native and global plant species.
