Iran date exports soar in first half of 2024

Tehran– Iran's date exports have seen a significant surge in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21), according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The value of date exports reached $78 million during this period, marking a substantial increase compared to the same time last year. Overall, Iran's agricultural product exports experienced a 26% rise in value during the first half of 2024.
In addition to dates, Iran exported a total of 3.2 million tons of agricultural products worth $1.7 billion during this period, representing a 20% increase in weight compared to the previous year.
This growth in agricultural exports is indicative of Iran's efforts to diversify its economy and boost its presence in global markets. The country's agricultural sector has been a key focus of development plans in recent years, with a particular emphasis on value-added products and exports.
