Iran Space Research Institute’s capabilities tapped to support agricultural development
Tehran - The Advisor to Iran’s Minister of Agriculture for Youth and Elites, during a visit to the Iran Space Research Institute (ISRI), underscored the institute’s latest achievements and highlighted the strong potential of satellite imagery to enhance productivity and drive development in the agricultural sector.
The visit reviewed ISRI’s capabilities in monitoring agricultural lands and natural resources, preventing unauthorized land-use changes, and addressing land grabbing. Special emphasis was placed on the application of high-resolution imagery from the Khayyam satellite, with one-meter accuracy, which offers new opportunities for more precise monitoring and management of agricultural and natural resources.
Mr. Navid also reaffirmed the Ministry of Agriculture’s readiness to cooperate and build synergies with the Iran Space Research Institute, stating that the use of these advanced technologies can significantly improve planning, management, and decision-making processes in agriculture.
