Tehran – Iran and Tajikistan are stepping up agricultural cooperation, with both countries exploring joint investment, technology transfer, and collaborative development projects, Iran's commercial attaché in Dushanbe said.

 

Mohammad Ali Amirfakhrian said recent talks with officials from Tajikistan's Ministry of Agriculture focused on cooperation in seedling production, livestock breeding, veterinary pharmaceuticals, fisheries, agro-processing, modern irrigation, agricultural mechanization, and agricultural value-chain investment.

 

The discussions identified strong potential for partnership, as Tajikistan seeks to modernize its agricultural sector and improve productivity in areas where Iranian companies have established technical expertise, he added.

 

To promote bilateral trade, Amirfakhrian announced plans to publish a Russian- and Tajik-language directory showcasing Iran's agricultural companies, industry associations, and technological capabilities.

 

He noted that the talks are part of ongoing efforts to identify mutually beneficial opportunities, adding that any future projects or investments will proceed only after the necessary technical, economic, legal, and regulatory reviews.
