Iran, Oman to strengthen veterinary ties

Tehran - Iran and Oman have agreed to expand bilateral cooperation in the veterinary field following the conclusion of a high-level meeting in Tehran between Omani veterinary officials, Iranian authorities, and representatives of the private sector.

The meeting marked the end of a 12-day official visit by the Omani delegation, during which they toured a range of livestock and poultry facilities across Iran.

Discussions focused on evaluating the outcomes of these visits and charting a roadmap for future collaboration.

Saeed Hosseini, Deputy for Health and Prevention at Iran’s Veterinary Organization, outlined several key areas for potential partnership, including specialized veterinary training programs and the export of hatching eggs, day-old broiler chicks, vaccines, and biopharmaceutical products.

He reaffirmed Iran’s readiness to deepen veterinary cooperation with Oman.

Ahmed Saif Al-Amri, head of the Omani veterinary delegation, expressed gratitude to Iranian officials and the Mihan Union for facilitating the visit. He described the trip as productive and expressed satisfaction with the insights gained during the tours.

According to Al-Amri, the delegation visited facilities in six provinces — Tehran, Semnan, Alborz, Golestan, Qom, and Isfahan — including layer pullet farms, egg-laying hen operations, egg packaging centers, and poultry feed production plants.
