Tehran – Iran and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have held a strategic meeting in Tehran to strengthen the country's vaccine development and biosecurity capabilities.

 

The hybrid session brought together international experts from FAO headquarters, regional offices, and Iranian national institutions to exchange technical knowledge, assess local capacities, and identify collaborative opportunities under the "National Vaccine Ecosystem of Iran" project.

 

Discussions centered on indigenous innovation, technical cooperation, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships as cornerstones of a resilient vaccine ecosystem. Participants also explored the concept of "regional resilience" through interconnected vaccine networks and reviewed potential future collaborations with FAO.

 

The Razi Institute reaffirmed its readiness for international engagement, highlighting vaccine supply, pursuit of FAO reference laboratory status, and joint research initiatives. Institute officials also thanked FAO for its support of their centennial activities and International Vaccine Congress.

 

FAO representatives expressed strong commitment to continued cooperation, pledging technical expertise and global networks to advance Iran's vaccine ecosystem.

 

The meeting closed with a call for sustained coordination across all FAO levels and Iranian national bodies.
