Beijing – Iran and China have announced plans to expand joint efforts in agricultural innovation and sustainability.

 

At the 32nd Conference on Advanced Agricultural Technologies in China, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Golmohammadi described China as a strategic technological partner and highlighted Iran’s need for modern agri-tech solutions due to its arid climate.

 

Both sides emphasized strengthening collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative, focusing on biotechnology research, expert exchanges, dryland farming technologies, and the development of smart, green, and digital agriculture.

 

Future cooperation will center on five strategic areas: creating joint research platforms, promoting circular farming, fostering talent exchange, and expanding industrial and investment partnerships to advance sustainable agricultural transformation.
