IFO launches national AI-powered center to secure export channels to Europe, Asia

Tehran - The Iran Fisheries Organization (IFO) has officially launched the National Center for Smart Technology, Innovation, and Security to digitize 100% of the nation's aquatic services and secure vital export channels to Europe and Asia.

The center, recently ratified by the State Administrative and Employment Organization, represents a high-tech pivot in Iran's Seventh National Development Plan.

By integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain-ready traceability, the IFO aims to modernize the entire aquatic value chain, from deep-sea harvesting to international retail.

Ali Akbar Khodaee, Secretary-General of the Iranian Aquatic Production and Trade Union, highlighted that smart tracking is no longer an option but a prerequisite for trade.

"Traceability is a non-negotiable condition for entry into the European Union," he said.

"Our new 'Dolphin' traceability system, currently in pilot phase, is designed to monitor the journey of seafood across the entire supply chain, ensuring our products meet the rigorous safety standards required by the EU, Russia, and China."

The integration of these systems has already yielded results: several Iranian firms were recently removed from Russia’s veterinary "Red List" after successfully synchronizing with international digital tracking protocols, he noted.
