Hydroponic strawberry greenhouse launched in western Iran
Urmia - A new hydroponic strawberry greenhouse was inaugurated in Sa’atlou village, Urmia, the capital of Iran's West Azarbaijan province, on the fifth day of the Ten-Day Dawn (Fajr) celebrations, with the Governor of the province and senior provincial officials in attendance.
At the opening ceremony, Mohammadreza Asghari, Head of the West Azarbaijan Agriculture Organization, said the expansion of greenhouse farming and the adoption of modern, technology-driven production methods are among the top priorities of the province’s agricultural sector.
He explained that the project was developed with an investment of 60 billion tomans on a 9,640-square-meter site and has generated direct employment for 20 people.
Officials said the greenhouse is expected to contribute to higher productivity, more efficient use of water and inputs, and the broader modernization of agriculture in the region.
