Granulated compost fertilizer plant opens in Mazandaran
Mazandaran - A granulated compost fertilizer production line and a new 900-square-meter processing facility have been inaugurated at the Elimalat Waste Management Complex in Noor County, northern Mazandaran Province.
At the opening ceremony, Governor-General Mehdi Younesi Rostami said the project marks a major step toward addressing Mazandaran’s waste management and environmental challenges.
He added that with several similar projects nearing completion, up to 80% of the province’s waste problem is expected to be managed effectively.
“The new facility, developed through cooperation between a private investor, the municipality, and the project contractor, has launched granulated compost fertilizer production at the site. The project also aims to reduce leachate discharge and upgrade operations to modern environmental standards.”
According to Younesi Rostami, the fertilizer improves soil quality, supplies essential nutrients, and helps reduce agricultural water consumption.
Once fully completed, the Elimalat complex will support sustainable waste management, organic fertilizer production, and environmental protection across the region, he concluded.
