FAO and Iran working together to boost pistachio industry

Tehran - The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture have teamed up to improve the safety and productivity of the country’s pistachio industry. A recent workshop marked the start of this collaborative project.
The goal is to enhance pistachio quality and safety from farm to table, boosting exports and benefiting everyone involved, from farmers to consumers. By introducing modern farming techniques, improving processing methods, and strengthening food safety standards, Iran aims to increase its share of the global pistachio market, particularly in Europe.
The project will focus on areas like advanced cultivation methods, mechanized harvesting, and efficient processing to maximize pistachio yield and quality.
