Exports of milk powder surge

Tehran - Iran has reported a significant increase in milk powder exports to various global markets, according to the head of the Milk Powder Producers Association.
Siavash Salimi said that the country is currently exporting over 10,000 metric tons of milk powder per month.
He further explained that the monthly production of milk powder has exceeded 20,000 metric tons, with 7,000 to 8,000 metric tons consumed domestically, leaving a surplus for export.
Highlighting the current surplus, Salimi noted that over 60,000 metric tons of milk powder are currently stored in warehouses.
Considering the production rate and the need to reduce stockpiles, he emphasized that Iran should be exporting 15,000 to 20,000 metric tons of milk powder per month.
Salimi predicted a 15-20% increase in milk powder production in the second half of the year as the region moves past the hot summer months.
