East Azerbaijan -  The agricultural exports from East Azarbaijan province, in the northwest of Iran, continued to rise in the first seven months of 1404, with a 12% increase in value and a 6% increase in volume, according to the head of the province’s Agricultural Organization.

 

“Total exports of agricultural and food products reached 195,373 tons, valued at 233.7 million dollars, with an average return of 1.20 dollars per kilogram. Dried fruits led the way, accounting for 47,490 tons worth 105.7 million dollars - over 45% of the province’s agricultural export value,” Shahram Shafiei said.

 

Other major export categories included confectionery, chocolate, and grain-based products, totaling 68,379 tons and 65.1 million dollars, as well as dairy, fruits, vegetables, and processed foods, he added.

 

Shafiei emphasized that agricultural exports are not only a key source of foreign currency but also drive production, employment, and rural development in the province.
