Chabahar Port a strategic gateway to reduce grain import risks: Expert
Tehran - A leading expert in grain production and supply has underscored the strategic importance of Chabahar Port, in the southeast of Iran, urging the government and the private sector to intensify efforts to develop its infrastructure.
In an interview with IANA News Agency, Arash Soltani highlighted the port’s unique geographic advantage, saying: “With direct access to open ocean waters, Chabahar stands apart from ports in the Persian Gulf and offers significant potential for the supply of essential commodities, especially to Iran’s eastern provinces.”
He further noted, “In recent months, we have unloaded two shipments through Chabahar Port. The private sector needs to adopt a more strategic approach toward Chabahar - working alongside the government not only in the import of goods but also in investing in port infrastructure and transport logistics.”
