Bushehr to launch 100-million-capacity shrimp hatchery
Bushehr - A shrimp hatchery capable of producing 100 million post-larvae annually is under construction in Deylam, southern Bushehr Province, and is scheduled to open later this year, fisheries officials announced.
The facility is part of Bushehr’s strategy to expand aquaculture infrastructure and strengthen investment in the shrimp sector. Once operational, it will supply a substantial portion of the post-larvae required by shrimp farms across Bushehr and neighboring provinces.
As one of Iran’s leading shrimp-producing regions, Bushehr views the expansion of hatchery capacity as essential to supporting industry growth. Officials say the new center will boost production security, reduce dependence on external suppliers, and reinforce the long-term sustainability of the country’s shrimp farming industry.
