Bushehr exports 26,000 tons of aquatic products

Bushehr – Iran's Bushehr Province has exported more than 26,000 tons of aquatic products to European and Asian markets, with the Provincial Veterinary Directorate playing a critical role in ensuring health and safety standards.

Mohammad Reza Abbasi, head of the Quarantine and Biosecurity Office at the Bushehr Veterinary Directorate, announced that since the start of the Iranian year 1404 (March 2025), export preparations have been completed for over 19,000 tons of shrimp and more than 7,600 tons of fish.

He noted that these exports followed more than 134,000 specialized food quality tests and over 27,000 shrimp disease diagnostics, alongside the issuance of international health certificates.

“Key destinations included Russia, China, Poland, Armenia, Bahrain, Georgia, Kuwait, the UAE, and Qatar.”

Abbasi emphasized that veterinary oversight spans all stages — from farm production to processing, packaging, and transport — to ensure full compliance with strict importing country requirements.

He added that traceability systems from farm to fork are in place, along with fully electronic, non-contact issuance of export health certificates to streamline and accelerate the process.
