Tehran – Iran’s wheat production is expected to reach 8.8 million tons in the current crop year (September 2024-2025), an official with the Agriculture Ministry said.

 

“If the rainfall is appropriate and fertilization is timely, we can hope that the production for the 1404-1405 crop year will reach 7.7 million tons this year and even 8.5 million tons,” Ataullah Hashemi, head of the National Wheat Farmers Foundation said.

 

He added, "Two-thirds of the country's wheat cultivation area is rainfed. The amount of production in these lands depends on the amount of rainfall and the distribution of rain in different provinces."

 

"This year, 7.7 million tons of wheat were delivered to the government, and we hope that, given the country's drought, the same amount of production will be repeated for the country next year."
