Tehran – Iran’s agricultural hub of Andimeshk, in the southern province Khuzestan, exported 70,000 tons of agricultural products to 14 countries during the current crop year, a local agricultural official announced.
Mohammad Jafar Afarin, head of Andimeshk’s Agriculture Department, said more than 7,000 export consignments were shipped to key international markets, including Russia, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Armenia, and Kazakhstan.
The exported products included fresh vegetables, fruits, and horticultural crops such as lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, eggplants, carrots, celery, watermelons, onions, peppers, sweet corn, mushrooms, dates, and melons.
Afarin noted that Andimeshk ranks second in agricultural export volume in Khuzestan Province, reflecting the county’s growing role in Iran’s agri-food trade.
He added that Andimeshk produces more than 800,000 tons of agricultural products annually and is one of Khuzestan’s leading producers of forage corn, potatoes, and clover, supported by strong agricultural capacity and well-developed transportation infrastructure.
