Agriculture Minister: Food security a top national priority
Gholamreza Nouri made the remarks on Thursday during the inauguration of Sina Fanavaran Mandegar, the country’s first specialized center for embryo production and transfer from elite cattle breeds.
Speaking at the event, Nouri honored the memory of martyrs and thanked the Iranian people and armed forces for their decisive response to recent aggression.
He emphasized the strategic importance of food security and the urgent need to strengthen self-sufficiency in the agricultural sector. “The recent victories are a source of national pride,” the minister said.
“Our missile capabilities are now respected by our neighbors and the Islamic world. This victory is even more meaningful as it was first acknowledged by the Leader.”
Nouri also highlighted the valuable cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Jahad-e-Daneshgahi (Academic Jihad), describing the latter as a key scientific and research partner in efforts to achieve food security.
Referring to the recent 12-day aggression, the minister warned that enemies are using food security as a tool of warfare, aiming to disrupt markets, create psychological and food-related insecurity, and deepen crises.
“The war revealed just how critical food security truly is,” he said. “Even during the agression, the enemy targeted market stability.”
