Ardabil – In a landmark move for the country's agricultural sector, Iran has officially begun the operational integration of artificial intelligence and smart farming technologies into its fields, led by the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO).

 

During a provincial visit to Ardabil, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Head of AREEO, Gholamreza Golmohammadi, oversaw the signing of the organization's first-ever technology transfer agreement in the field of AI-driven and smart agriculture, according to a report carried by the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture.

 

The deal was signed with Pars Agriculture and Livestock Company, marking a strategic turning point that ushers in a new era of data-driven farm management and the practical application of cutting-edge technologies in Iranian agriculture.

 

Under the terms of the agreement, AREEO will deploy and implement the "Integrated Smart Irrigation and Advanced Farm Management Model" across the farms of Pars Company. The collaboration also includes the execution of national pilot projects, the transfer and localization of technical know-how, smart monitoring of production processes, data analysis, and performance evaluation—all within the realm of knowledge-based and intelligent agriculture.

 

The agreement is designed to boost productivity, optimize water resource management, advance precision agriculture, strengthen food security, and accelerate the transition toward next-generation farming.

 

Industry experts view this partnership as a national model for driving digital transformation in Iran's agricultural sector and a decisive step toward embedding artificial intelligence technologies directly into the production chain.
