Tehran – Iran has solidified its position as a global powerhouse in pomegranate production.

According to the Deputy Minister of Horticulture at Iran's Ministry of Agriculture, the nation ranks third worldwide, trailing only India and China in terms of total output.

“However, when considering per capita production, Iran takes the top spot.”

Mohammad Mehdi Broumandi attributed Iran's pomegranate success to several key factors, including resilience, genetic diversity, indigenous knowledge, and technological advancements.

He further emphasized that these advantages offer significant opportunities for Iran to further expand its pomegranate orchards and solidify its global leadership in this sector.
