Food security fruit of close government-parliament cooperation, minister says

Tehran – Iran's food security has been achieved through close collaboration between the government and Parliament, with the tangible results becoming evident during recent conflicts, the Minister of Agriculture announced.

Speaking at a meeting of the Coordination Council of Parliament and the Ministry of Agriculture, Gholamreza Nouri thanked lawmakers, particularly members of the Parliamentary Agricultural Commission, for their support of the ministry's food security initiatives.

"The 14th government and the 12th Parliament have built valuable synergy, unity, and cooperation," Nouri said. "Its fruits were on full display during the '12-Day War' and the 'Ramadan War'—no shortages of essential goods were felt anywhere in the country."

The minister noted that with backing from the President and government, support from Parliament, and cooperation across the entire supply chain, from producers to distributors, essential commodities are now in a highly favorable state, with no disruptions in the distribution network.

Referring to the strong reserves of essential goods throughout the current Iranian year (1405) and during the 12-Day War, Nouri reassured, "Thanks to the measures taken, neither during the recent war nor this year (1405) will there be any disruption in the production or supply of essential goods."
