55,000 tons of eggs exported in 4 months

Iran shipped out 55,000 tons of eggs to various markets between March and July, according to Hamidreza Kashani, head of Iran’s Union of Egg-Laying Hen Producers.
Domestic production has also seen a remarkable increase, with monthly output reaching 110,000 tons, Kashani said predicting that this figure will climb to 150,000 tons by the end of the Iranian year in March 2025.
Iran's egg industry is expanding its global footprint, with recent shipments to Sudan marking a new market entry, he said. “Other major export destinations include Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.”
Based on the Agriculture Ministry data, the country's 1,700 egg production units and 600 chicken breeding facilities are contributing to this growth.
Last year, Iran produced 1.26 million tons of eggs, exporting 136,000 tons. With the potential to produce 1.6 million tons annually, the industry is poised for further expansion.
