Mongolian FM: Iran knows well how to counter sanctions
Ulaanbaatar – Iran's government and people have effectively mastered the art of resisting sanctions, Mongolia's Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh said during a bilateral meeting with Iran's Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri on the sidelines of the COP17 conference in Ulaanbaatar.
Batmunkh praised Iran's resilience amid recent U.S. hostility, noting that deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations provide a strong foundation for closer bilateral relations.
She emphasized that those familiar with Iran's rich civilization and history hold great admiration for the nation's enduring spirit of resistance.
Minister Nouri, for his turn, condemned recent plots by the US and the Zionist regime of Israel aimed at destabilizing Iran, asserting that such aggression was thwarted by the unwavering resolve of the Iranian people.
He also reported that enemy actions had damaged water and soil management infrastructure and resulted in the loss of lives among agricultural workers and farmers.
Nouri proposed expanding bilateral cooperation in agriculture and meat imports, suggesting a visa waiver for political and service passports, the formation of a joint economic commission, and the establishment of agriculture and trade committees based on barter mechanisms, proposals that were warmly received by the Mongolian foreign minister.
The Iranian minister concluded by extending an official invitation to his Mongolian counterpart to visit Tehran.
