Ministry of Agriculture aims for stable, fluctuation-free production of essential products

Achieving stable and fluctuation-free production of essential products, establishing domestic production on a sustainable export platform, and ensuring the reliable supply of basic inputs are key goals for the ministry, according to the Iranian Minister of Agriculture.
The ministry has taken significant steps in the past year to make production the pivot of its management, implementation, and headquarters activities, Mohammad Ali Nikbakht said.
He explained that local food security headquarters are now the focal point for production-based implementation decisions.
“These decision-making centers have replaced market concerns, as seen in the previous year, with a focus on the nature of production.”
Nikbakht reiterated that the ministry's goal is to establish domestic production on a sustainable export platform while simultaneously stabilizing domestic production. He believes that a secure domestic market and exports go hand in hand and support each other.
The Minister of Agriculture emphasized that fulfilling support commitments is a sign of the agricultural management's determination to boost production.
He said, unlike in the past, the inputs needed for production are now secured for the first six months of the year, and the implementation plan for the second six months is in full swing. This means that producers should have no concerns other than production.
Nikbakht said that ensuring a reliable supply of inputs is the foundation for sustainable production. He added that while the annual input requirement may have been met in the past, the key is to assure producers that the necessary inputs will be available in the right time and place. This is now a reality for producers.
