Minister calls for development of modern greenhouses

The Iranian Minister of Agriculture underlined the importance of building modern greenhouses.
“Currently, 140 hectares of villages’ land is dedicated to flower and plant cultivation, and annually 45 million branches, plants, pots, and bushes of various ornamental flowers and plants are produced in open and greenhouse spaces in this county, of which 80% are dedicated to apartment flowers,” Mohammad Ali Nikbakht said.
He stated that the support of the 13th Government for greenhouse projects can contribute to the flourishing of production, employment, and the development of non-oil exports in this sector, and expressed hope that with the support of the government and the efforts of greenhouse owners, we will witness the ever-increasing prosperity of this industry in the country.
Nikbakht further emphasized the need to develop modern greenhouses, use new technologies and up-to-date knowledge in flower and plant production, branding and appropriate packaging of products, and facilitating the export of flowers and plants.
He also emphasized the need for branding and appropriate packaging of greenhouse products for successful presence in domestic and foreign markets.
