Khorasan Razavi tops Iran in solar power generation
Mashhad – Khorasan Razavi province, in the northeast of Iran, has been recognized as the national leader in solar power production, with its agricultural industry driving the charge.
Majid Jafari, Head of the Agricultural Organization for the province, announced that the region now generates over 55 megawatts of solar electricity. "This output firmly establishes Khorasan Razavi as the largest producer of agricultural solar power in Iran."
He credited this achievement to the active engagement and forward-thinking approach of the province's farmers and producers.
"This success has been realized through the active participation and dedication of our producers," he said, underscoring the agricultural community's crucial role in advancing the nation's renewable energy agenda.
To build on this momentum, Jafari called for an increased focus on knowledge transfer and specialized training.
He urged agricultural experts to upgrade their expertise in clean energy technologies, including solar, wind, and biogas. "Our extension specialists must be equipped with the latest knowledge so they can act as effective guides for farmers looking to adopt these technologies," he explained.
