Iran unveils new lab aimed at assessing nanotechnology in agriculture

The Iranian Minister of Agriculture inaugurated a new reference laboratory that will take aim at evaluation of agricultural products incorporating nanotechnology.
Mohammad Ali Nikbakht attended the unveiling ceremony during which various technological advancements co-developed by the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute and a dozen knowledge-based companies were showcased.
Nikbakht hailed the lab's opening as a significant step towards achieving knowledge-based agriculture. He emphasized the lab's role in promoting uniformity, sustainability, and research in agricultural production, while also providing proper training for professionals and encouraging the adoption of new technologies.
Mohsen Mardi, a senior advisor and head of the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute, elaborated on the lab's purpose, explaining that it was established with the approval of the Ministry's Nano-Technology Strategic Committee.
The lab's primary function is to assess and certify nano-based products for agricultural applications.
