Iran to allocate major funding, modernize agricultural service centers

Tehran – Agricultural service centers across the country will be equipped through a major allocation of 70 trillion rials, according to the deputy minister of management and resources.
As part of this initiative, 3,000 pieces of field machinery will be provided to these centers, Dr. Shahpour A’laei Moghaddam said.
The official further highlighted the challenges facing the agricultural sector in the world, including droughts, floods, storms, dust storms, and pests, which have caused significant fluctuations in agricultural growth rates.
Despite decreasing water resources and rainfall, Iran's agricultural production has increased from 40 million tons to 125 million tons, he said.
“This surge in production demonstrates the potential for greater success in the sector through the adoption of advanced technologies, effective farmer communication, and increased agricultural knowledge.”
A’laei Moghaddam emphasized that while six million hectares of agricultural land require pressurized irrigation systems, only 2.8 million hectares have been equipped with such systems so far.
