Iran strikes agricultural deals with Mongolia, Russia

Three agreements were signed on the opening day of Iran Expo 2024 between Iran’s southern province and Mongolia and Russia.

Masoumeh Moayyedi, Coordinating Manager of Fars Province Agricultural Organization, announced the deals during a visit to the province's pavilion at the exhibition.

Two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed with Mongolia, one focusing on extraterritorial cultivation of agricultural products and the other on cooperation in farming and the red meat industry.

A separate MoU was signed with Russia to collaborate on packaging and exporting fresh fruits and vegetables.

Moayyedi highlighted the significant international participation at Iran Expo 2024, with over 2,000 foreign traders and merchants from nearly 100 countries attending. The Agricultural Organization of Fars province will also showcase two mechanized systems designed to enhance the production and value chain of pharmaceutical plants.

The six-day exhibition, showcasing products across seven categories including foodstuff, agriculture, and industry, opened on April 27 and runs until May 1 at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds.

An additional MoU for oil and gas development was also signed with China on the opening day.
