Iran still one of region’s largest grain markets: Official
Tehran – The head of the Iran–Switzerland Chamber of Commerce underscored the need to enhance the resilience of Iran’s grain industry amid domestic and international challenges.
Sharif Nezam Mafi called for stronger public–private cooperation to develop effective and sustainable solutions.
Emphasizing the strategic importance of the grain and food sectors, he said, “Building resilience within the food industry and grain supply chain is crucial in the current environment.”
Despite mounting pressures and difficult conditions, the official noted that Iran continues to rank among the largest and most promising grain markets in the Middle East and Central Asia.
“Through closer collaboration between the public and private sectors, we can address domestic bottlenecks and overcome international challenges facing the grain industry,” he added.
Nezam Mafi also highlighted the importance of both domestic and international strategies to mitigate the impact of ongoing crises. “Even under external political pressures, we can strengthen our internal capacities, develop effective solutions, and make the country’s grain industry more resilient,” he concluded.
